 1. Participation

This International tournament will be held in 2 sections:
A Master Class and an Open Class.

Participation in the Master Class will be reserved for players with an (FIDE recognized) title and an ELO rating >2200 and players with a personal invitation from the Organizing Committee.

For Fide titleholders of GM/WGM with an ELO rating >2200, the Organizing Committee will cover the cost of an economic class air ticket and accommodation (room+breakfast).

Participation is in the Open Class is open for every player of all federations.

2. Format and Time Control

The Master Class will be a 9 round Swss, Fide rated tournament.
The Open Class will be a 7 round Swiss Fide rated tournament.

Rate of play: 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment starting from move1

Waiting time: Any player who arrives at the chessboard 30 minutes after the start of the session shall lose the game.

3. Prize Fund
In case of a tie, the sum of the cash prizes involved will be shared equally.

Additional Regulations

-  Cash prizes will be divided if more than one (1) person ends with equal points
- Each person in the Open Class can only qualify for one category prize. For Example: You can not get a category prize in the u-1900 and u-1700/u-16/ women section.
- Individuals in the top 5 of the Open Class do not qualify for category prizes.

 

4. Entry Fees

Master Class

No entry fees for players with a GM/WGM title.
For other non-resident players the entry fee will be U$ 100

    Open Class

Non-Residents : Juniors under 20 years (as per 1 January 2017): U$ 30
                           Others :                                                                U$ 50

5. Designation of the Winner and Ranking

Daily transportation between Ramada hotel and playing venue will be available free of cost. If players staying at another accommodation than the Ramada hotel need transportation from their accommodation to the playing venue v.v., there will be a transportation fee of minimal U$ 5 (depending on the distance) for every time transportation is needed. On request all players will be picked up at the airport (if flight details are known) and transportation from the airport to the Ramada hotel v.v. is free. If a player is staying in another accommodation than the Ramada hotel, there will be a transportation fee of U$ 25 from the airport to the player’s accommodation (or U$ 50 if the players also need transportation from their accommodation back to the airport).

8.1 Appeals Committee

The members of the Appeals Committee are:

All protests must be submitted in writing to the Appeals Committee not more than two hours after the relevant playing session.The appeals process shall include written representations and a written decision. The Committee shall endeavor to find binding solutions for both sides. Each protest must be accompanied by a deposit fee of $50.00 or the equivalent in local currency. If the protest is accepted, the fee shall be returned.
